Festive Guts: Codfish Sperm!





What looks like BRAIN MATTER, tastes like CREAM CHEESE and can be found served in Japanese izakayas during the month of December?

To my horror and amazement I was talked into trying this delicacy at the deliciously occult Kyo Ya restaurant on 7th street and 1st Ave in the East Village.

Codfish start spawning during January in North Atlantic breeding zones such as the Bristol Channel and the Irish Channel. This timeline puts us in prime cod milt season right NOW.
