Ipswich Shucked Clams are sold by the half gallon!

Staunch clam roll advocates demand the Ipswich clam. Take Maria "Chickie" Aggelakis for example. She is the proud owner of the world famous Clam Box in Ipswich, MA.  This restaurant is so innovatively designed that it actually looks like an open box of fried clams, road side. She says that "if the clams don't come from Ipswich, you might as well eighty-six the whole dang menu." Okey dokey, Clam Damsel!!!
In another exclusive clam interview, I spoke with Dave Delancey, owner of the Lobster Trap and local celebrity in Monument Beach, MA.  So how exactly does Dave feel about the Ipswich clams in comparison to those of ye' native Cape Cod beds?

"They are all pretty daaaahn good", says Dave in a thick Cape accent. "I nevah tasted a clam I didn't like!"
This guy is my HERO!!!!

Massachusetts - Ruby Red Shrimp

Ruby Red Shrimp: Best kept secret on the eastern seaboard.

In the fish industry, loose lips sink ships. Maybe that's why you haven't heard about our specialty Large Ruby Red Shrimp.

These crustaceans are so sweet and succulent that once you go ruby, you may never go back.

We have been supporting the Atlantic Coast shrimp fishing industry for years. Considering the situation in the Gulf, ask yourself: Where are my shrimp from?

Ruby Red:  IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) / head-off
 21-25 - 11.95/lb
 16-20 - 14.95/lb
 U-15  - 16.95/lb

Hake and Striped Bass 2/1/11

When in doubt, MAKE IT A HAKE!
Have you ever seen the face of a hake? Trust me, you don't want to. They are hideous monsters and that's why we sell them headed and gutted. They come from Massachusetts and their white flaky meat is great for soup, wrapping in bacon (honestly, what isn't good for wrapping in bacon?), etc.

What am I talking about? You know what to do, you are the chef. Hake has a bout a 70% yield and usually weigh from 7-14# per fish. It's also NOT the most expensive fish in the world so:
Power to the hake!

Stripah News:
New fishing areas for striped bass are open today in Virginia and Maryland. For the end of this week, and for many moons ahead, we will have an abundance of striped bass in house.
Breaking it down for you...
A: Striped Bass are an anadramous species (live in salt/ spawn in fresh).
B: That dude who was in charge of our country in 2007 issued an executive order for no striped bass fishing in federal waters (3 miles off shore).
C:
Amuse Bush

D: In this day and age, stripers are not overfished. Their biomass indexes are healthy.
E: We sell line caught striped bass, which has very minimal impact on the fish's habitat.
F: I know what you are about to say: WE ARE AWESOME. Thank you, thank you.
YOU ARE ALSO AWESOME!
